EQ AZ, Tumbleweed Hosting Maurice Green Memorial Day of Service

 

PHOENIX – In observance of the International Day Against Homophobia and to honor the memory of Maurice Green, Equality Arizona and Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development are hosting a day of service for LGBTQ youth.

In March 2006, 22-year-old Maurice Green, who was also known as Melissa, reportedly was fatally shot while dressed as a women walking near 35th Avenue and Glenrosa. This crime remains unsolved.

The day of service is intended to bring attention to the tragic death of Maurice Green and to promote equality.
